Blog#3: Nezu-Museum

燕子花図
                      燕子花図

Hi, I am Ryoh.
Today, I review Nezu-Museum in Omote-Sandou, Tokyo. Nezu-Museum was born in 1941. This museum was made of  Kiichiro Nezu's artistic collection. There are many beautiful works of art.
Among all those works, I love "Irises" the best! In Japanese, "燕子花図屏風 ". This is pair of six fold screens, color on gold-foiled paper, and made by Ogata Korin. He is very famous artist in Edo period. How gorgeous it is!

Now, ceramic art exhibition is held  here. I also like ceramics, so I want to go and enjoy this.

  1. Hi, this is Ms. MacGregor. I have seen Irises at this museum. Is it on display all the time? I thought it only appeared from time to time.
When does the ceramic exhibition end? I like ceramic art too. I especially like Mingei pottery. Do you know it?

  5. Hi, this is Yuka. I haven't seen a real Irises painting. I have seen Irises only on a textbook of Japanese history. Are there other Ogata Korin's paintings, for example, Red and white Japanese apricot painting in this museum?
